Just look up comparisons between the original and this version. This game literally looks worse than a PS2 game from 2001 in many ways. It's a disrespectful cash grab. If you at all value gaming as an art form, you're better off just finding out a way to play the original.

This is an excellent retro fps. It has great level design. You would think the same blue metal over and over again would get stale, but the actual layouts vary so widely that it isn't an issue. The levels can be complex, but they never become tedious. Every time you turn a corner there's a chance that something will be there to kill you, so you're always on your toes and taking stock of your surroundings. It even has a decent level of verticality and incorporates platforming surprisingly well. The checkpoint/life system is punishing, which raises the tension, and is handled in a unique way that I haven't seen before. There's an interesting "super health bar" to manage that drains very slowly and sets the upper limit of your real health bar with a different kind of health pack to replenish each. The gunplay is also top-notch. There is a decent suite of weapons to use, and the ballistics physics are very cool and realistic. There are tons of alternate and secondary fire modes for the weapons. You can even put your gun into a "non-combat" position just for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles. There is a surprising amount of depth in this game. You have a lot of tools and abilities at your disposal, and most levels allow for bit of freedom in how you can tackle them. The music is also strong. It combines moody atmosphere with some more intense tracks. The art style is weird and might turn some people off, but it's one of the best shooters out there and deserves way more recognition. Its only real flaw is that it's a bit unstable and can crash and lag. Even on my super computer I get frame drops from all the debris on certain maps and plenty of crashes. But despite all that, this is one of the most surprisingly pleasant experiences I've had in years. If you are at all a fan of shooters, you need to play this.

This is the actual sequel to Diablo 2, in my opinion. Diablo 3 is poop. Grim Dawn isn't as deep as POE, but it's deeper than Diablo 3, and it's not mindlessly easy like POE. The aesthetic is way better than both of them. The soundtrack is awesome. The world is really fun to explore. There are secrets and hidden paths. You're actually incentivized to fully explore a map, unlike POE. The main selling point is the character building system, which, while not as deep as POE in many ways, is still pretty deep in its own right. You can specialize in a single class, but you're able to dual-spec into any two classes of your choosing, which really opens up tons of possibilities with synergy. There's even a secondary progression system in addition to your classes for which you unlock points at fixed points around the world that adds a whole other layer to your build. The base game alone is a little short and kind of truncates towards the end, but the two expansions and crucible mode really flesh it out. It's definitely an indie game, but in many ways it punches above its weight class and enters AAA territory. It's probably more accurate to call it a AA game. I would recommend just getting all of it at once, but maybe wait for a sale if you're not absolutely dying for it. I would say it's definitely worth $65, but it might not seem like that at first and you might feel burned. On sale, it's an absolute steal. If you played Diablo back in the day and haven't found the game to scratch that itch, Grim Dawn will probably do it for you.

Normie: The game.

I loved WItcher 3, btw.

Not a good game. Plays like crap. Janky and buggy.

Story content is OK. V/O and acting and animations in cutscenes are all excellent. But the narrative isn't particularly interesting. Everything else is pretty bad. The world is utterly soulless, which is astonishing considering how amazing Witcher 3's world was. This is not the CDPR that made that game.

I've had my review negative since IE came out. I'm changing it to positive because they have genuinely made the game better. It still needs work, but it's almost as good as 2 now and their recent behavior tells me that the odds are good that this will eventually turn into the game it was supposed to be.

Stray is a classic adventure game where you explore, solve simple puzzles, and get items for NPCs to advance the story. The gameplay is very simple and accessible to all ages, but hardcore gamers should still be able to enjoy it. It does an excellent job of transporting the player to a strange (but believable) world. The game oozes soul. The music is fantastic. The lighting is so good at times that it looks like ray tracing (but isn't). Every location feels comfy. The story, like the gameplay, is simple, but satisfying. There is enough to learn about the world and characters that it keeps you interested for the entirety of the game. Some issues like minor bugs and the fact that there is no animation for walking up stairs (NPCs and the cat treat stairs like ramps) can occasionally break immersion. The graphics, while on balance excellent, occasionally have weak spots here and there. Some of the animations are a bit scuffed, while others are very impressive. It suffers/benefits from what I call "the little engine that could syndrome" wherein an indie title is made even more charming by the blemishes it has when contrasted with the quality of the rest of the game. The first major area that you visit is the largest and most robust in terms of exploration and NPC interactions. I was hoping for at least one more area of its size. It is also a tad on the short side. I beat the game in 7 hours while taking my time to explore and find collectibles. All that said, Stray is still one of the most memorable experiences I've had in gaming in a long while. Some people might feel burned by the $30 price tag for its length, but I didn't. I enjoyed it so much that I just wish there was more. I already want to start a second playthrough to get the handful of collectibles that I missed. I doubt there will be any kind of DLC or a sequel. If we do get a sequel, it will likely not come for a long while. Stray very much feels like a "boutique" game made by a small team of dedicated artists trying to craft a very particular experience. It is a cohesive whole with no need for any follow ups. Anyone who truly loves video games owes it to themselves and the developers to pick this one up.

I want to recommend this game, but unless you plan on streaming it via GeForce Now, it is essentially unplayable once you hit a certain guest count. All of the calculations that the game makes for the guests create a CPU bottleneck that causes the framerate to slowly degrade over time until it is a complete slideshow. It doesn't even take that many guests to trigger this, either. A mid-sized zoo (relative to all the space they let you play with) will run into this problem. Forget making a giant zoo that makes use of the entire map. No CPU will be able to remedy this, even my i9-11900k, which is well above the recommended specs. The game has amazing potential but is held back by a broken engine.

It's a watered-down version of Fallout 3. Just play that.
