Only pay to win is being able to unlock units with money, but you'll start with good units. You'll get a lot of trial units cards that you can try out for 24 hours, so you're not wasting In game money. Ranked is fun but you shouldn't have more then 1 cav or archer on your team, cause they're so bad. More arcady, if you want more in depth and more rpg style game CB is the way to go.
