Dissecting a heart will make us understand the organ and its function better, because as we cut it open we can see its internal structure and we can pinpoint the arteries entering and leaving the heart. We can also conclude that the heart pumps blood and oxygen into the rest of the body by dissecting it and seeing which parts exactly do it. For our plan, first we’re going to cut open the cow heart thoroughly in the middle using a scalpel while trying not to damage any important arteries we might need to inspect later on. Our goal is to find out its function and the different internal parts of the cow heart. Once we’ve cut it open we are going to use gloves to not contaminate the heart and we will inspect it from the inside and see each artery, vein, vessel, etc. to find out each one’s function and why it’s so important for the cows heart and its body.
